Nicolas van Betuw
Inleiding:
Ik ben Nicolas, 24 jaar oud, Padel Speler en Trainer, woonachtig in Rotterdam. Samen met mijn vader, Flip van Betuw, run ik PadelXperience.
Opleiding en Specialisatie:
Tijdens mijn Cios-opleiding in Goes ben ik in aanraking gekomen met padel. Ik ben afgestudeerd met specialisatie racket sporten en ben naast padeltrainer ook o.a. afgestudeerd gediplomeerd tennistrainer.
Sportprestaties:
Al op jonge leeftijd speelde ik op hoog niveau tennis, hierdoor pakte ik het padel vrij gemakkelijk op. Al snel speelde ik eredivisie en steeg ik op de Nederlandse ranglijst. Op dit moment sta ik rond de 15e plek in Nederland. Mijn doel is om eind dit jaar in de top 10 van Nederland te staan en mijn internationale ranking te verbeteren.
Training in Spanje:
Na het zomerseizoen van 2023 kreeg ik de kans om een half jaar fulltime te trainen in Spanje, een lang gekoesterde droom. Mijn dank gaat uit naar mijn sponsoren die op deze pagina vermeld staan.
Recente Overwinningen:
Recentelijk heb ik samen met mijn vaste partner Yannick Verwater het laatste grote buitentoernooi van 2023 (P500 Volendam) gewonnen. Yannick geeft ook trainingen voor PadelXperience. Ook hebben we het eerste grote toernooi van dit jaar( P250 Zwijndrecht) op onze naam geschreven. We bereiden ons nu voor op het P500 eind februari in Son en Breugel en de Nationale Kampioenschappen eind maart in Eindhoven.
Internationaal Toernooi:
Deze week neem ik deel aan een sterk internationaal toernooi met een Spaanse partner in Benidorm.
Terug naar Nederland:
Halverwege maart keer ik terug naar Nederland, klaar om deel te nemen aan de Nationale Kampioenschappen en weer padeltrainingen te verzorgen op het prachtige Lake Seven, het mooiste padel complex van Nederland.

After 4 months on the sidelines with an injury, it finally feels great to be back competing! ๐
This weekend, Jort and I played the P500 tournament in Limbricht, and Iโm really happy to finish with a ๐ฅ after such a long break.

Always an honor to compete in this event. This year alongside my partner @jortnolten. I really enjoyed your passion, energy, and commitment on court! And thank you @milou_ettekoven for being there on the bench with us.
In the first round, we had to shake off some nerves in the opening set, but we quickly found our rhythm. In the quarterfinals, we faced our friends @kai_groen and @mats_groen . After a hard-fought battle, we unfortunately came up short in the third set, losing 4โ6 โ Still a tough one to swallow, but we can look back on a great match.
Taking it a bit easier in the coming period as Iโve been dealing with some groin issues. Hopefully more clarity on that later this week ๐ค๐ป
